Edie Telle Nakata and Francisco Miguel

“Scroll Play”

In their first pop up location, Collective Gallery presents a dialogue of images between two artists: Edie Telle Nakata and Francisco Miguel. “Scroll play” explores the intuitive nature of photos as a continuation of fragments. As collectors of images and moments, Telle Nakata and Miguel use image making as a speculative and voyeuristic process. Photography is a tool, a comma within the sentence of their practices. Subtle imprints of their cultural heritage reveal themselves and when placed together act as a way to cross routine and perspectives, transgressing the individual character of the photographer into the multi-dimensional. These analogue images present slower paced, more focused nodes within the ever expanding network of the immediacy of photography, the click and speed of the digital scroll in todays mediascape; connectors of stories, of place and medium.
